I am again making a list of all the books I have listened to and read, as well as key podcasts listening that I have listened to in 2024, as I did with Books of 2021, 2022 and 2023. Below is a list of all the books I have read or listened to, including the source: Libby (a library download service), Amazon Kindle, and Chirp. As in 2023, most of the books I read this year were audiobooks from Chirp or Libby, or podcasts. From this list, I provide the following as the best three books and one podcast I read or listened to in 2024, listed in order of their importance to me:
- Empire Podcast by Anita Anand and William Dalrymple took me through a variety of history with guest speakers and humour that made this podcast a joy to listen to day after day, as I binged through past episodes in 2024.
- Heritage by Judy Nunn was a revealing tale about the transformation that Australia experienced in the aftermath of WWII, as well as some side stories about the fleeing Nazis and the situation in Israel at that time. I learned about Australia and the challenges that so many faced in that time.
- The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is a small book with more insight than many self-help books all put together. I expect to be rereading this one annually.
